Meet Rachel
Hey y’all!
My name is Rachel Ciastko and I am the Founder and
Lead Designer at Alba Dahlia Floral.
I was born and raised here in Arlington, Texas!
When I was growing up, I lived and breathed soccer.
In any free time that I had, I LOVED to create things. Drawing, painting and
being outside with my mom while she planted her flowers were my favorite
pastimes. If it involved color – I was totally in!
I did not discover floral design until I was in my
twenties. When studying in school, none of the majors were giving me the fire
and creativity that I was hoping for. While planning my wedding, I was meeting
with our florist and was shocked at how little I knew about this industry - but
something about it grabbed my attention. Suddenly, I found myself reaching out to
any florist I came across within the DFW area, bright-eyed and eagerly awaiting
a company to take me on and teach me from the ground up.
My first job came out of McKinney as a wedding
florist and I soaked in as much as I possibly could about this floral business.
I truly believe that if it was not for such an incredible experience and so
much hands-on training, I would not be here today.
We are now beginning our third year in business and
I am thrilled at the amount of growth we have had in such a short amount of
time! In the last few years I have really come into my own in my work. I took
what I learned, trusted my creativity and have made each design into something
completely unique. I think this is what people love most about us.
